  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×13-inch baking dish lined with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt until combined.
  • In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just incorporated.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.
  • Press half of the dough into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  • Drizzle caramel sauce over the dough, spreading it gently.
  • Drop spoonfuls of remaining dough on top of the caramel layer, spreading as necessary.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Cool completely before cutting into squares and optionally sprinkle sea salt on top.
