Instructions

Baking Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat together the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until a dough forms.
  • Cover the dough with plastic wrap and chill for 15-20 minutes.
  • Dust your work surface with flour and roll out the dough to about ¼ inch thick.
  • Cut out rectangles or squares from the rolled-out dough and arrange on the baking sheet.
  • Bake the cookies for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are just golden.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
