Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line the bottom of a 7-inch springform pan with parchment paper.
  • Crush 24 Oreo cookies in a food processor until they resemble fine crumbs and mix with ½ cup melted butter.
  • Press the mixture into the bottom and sides of the springform pan, bake for 8-10 minutes.
  • In a mixer, beat together cream cheese, sugar, eggs, sour cream, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
  • Gently fold in chopped Oreos to the cheesecake batter.
  • Pour cheesecake batter into the cooled crust and bake in a water bath at 325°F (160°C) for 75 minutes.
  • Cool the cheesecake gradually in the oven with the door cracked open for 1 hour.
  • Chill the cheesecake in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours.
  • Melt chocolate chips with heavy cream and pour over cooled cheesecake.
  • Garnish with whipped cream and halved Oreos if desired.

Notes
