Instructions
Prepping and Baking
Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
Combine 1 ½ cups of Oreo cookie crumbs with ½ cup of melted unsalted butter. Mix until well-coated and press into the bottom of a springform pan.
In a bowl, beat together 16 oz of softened cream cheese and 1 cup of granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
Add 1 cup of sour cream, 3 large eggs, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 2 tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder. Mix until smooth.
Fold in 1 cup of crushed Oreo cookies gently.
Pour the mixture over the prepared crust and smooth the top. Bake for 60 to 75 minutes until the outer rim is set.
Cool the cheesecake in the oven for 1 hour after baking. Then cool to room temperature.
Transfer to the refrigerator and chill for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight.
Spread ½ cup of cream cheese frosting on top and sprinkle with Oreo cookie crumbs.
Release the sides of the springform pan and slice into servings.
Notes
Be patient and let your cheesecake chill for the best texture and flavor enhancement.
