Instructions

Prepping and Baking

  • Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
  • Combine 1 ½ cups of Oreo cookie crumbs with ½ cup of melted unsalted butter. Mix until well-coated and press into the bottom of a springform pan.
  • In a bowl, beat together 16 oz of softened cream cheese and 1 cup of granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
  • Add 1 cup of sour cream, 3 large eggs, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 2 tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder. Mix until smooth.
  • Fold in 1 cup of crushed Oreo cookies gently.
  • Pour the mixture over the prepared crust and smooth the top. Bake for 60 to 75 minutes until the outer rim is set.
  • Cool the cheesecake in the oven for 1 hour after baking. Then cool to room temperature.
  • Transfer to the refrigerator and chill for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight.
  • Spread ½ cup of cream cheese frosting on top and sprinkle with Oreo cookie crumbs.
  • Release the sides of the springform pan and slice into servings.
