  • 180 g self-raising flour
  • 180 g salted butter or unsalted for a subtler taste
  • 180 g soft brown sugar
  • 3 pcs eggs
  • 100 ml milk
  • 7.5 g black cocoa powder approximately 1 tablespoon
  • 15 g pumpkin powder approximately 2 tablespoons
  • 2 teaspoons pumpkin spice mix
  • teaspoon baking powder
  • teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • orange food coloring a few drops
  • black food coloring a few drops (optional)

For the Glaze

  • 75 g powdered sugar
  • 1.5 tablespoons warm water

For Decorating

  • black and orange sprinkles
  • eyeball candy

Instructions

Step-by-Step Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F) and prepare your loaf tin.
  • Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy for about 2 minutes.
  • Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition until smooth.
  • Mix the dry ingredients in another bowl, then fold into the creamed mixture gently.
  • Add half of the milk and mix, alternate with the remaining flour and milk.
  • Add vanilla extract and mix until evenly distributed.
  • Prepare the black batter by mixing black cocoa into one-third of the batter.
  • In the remaining batter, add pumpkin powder and orange food coloring.
  • Layer the batters by alternating spoonfuls in the prepared loaf tin.
  • Bake for about 45 minutes and check for doneness with a toothpick.
  • Make the glaze by mixing powdered sugar with warm water until smooth.
  • Decorate the cooled cake with glaze, sprinkles, and eyeball candies.
