  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
  • Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples.
  • Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, ground cinnamon, and ground cardamom in a bowl.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk melted butter and granulated sugar together. Add eggs, vanilla extract, and yogurt, and stir until smooth.
  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  • Spread half of the batter in the prepared baking pan and arrange half of the apple slices on top.
  • Dollop remaining batter over the apples and top with the rest of the apple slices.
