Ingredients

  • 500 g ground meat a perfect base that provides hearty flavor.
  • 250 g ricotta cheese offers creaminess and a delightful contrast to the meat.
  • 1 teaspoon salt enhances all the flavors in your Cannelloni Viande Hachée.
  • 1 teaspoon pepper adds a touch of warmth and spice.
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg brings a subtle, aromatic element that elevates the filling.

For the Cannelloni

  • 400 g cannelloni tubes these are the perfect vessels for your delicious filling.

For the Topping

  • 100 g grated cheese (e.g., mozzarella or parmesan) creates a gooey and crispy top layer for your baked dish.
  • 300 ml tomato sauce keeps the dish moist and infuses a rich flavor throughout.

Instructions

Step-By-Step Instructions

  • Start by preheating your oven to 180°C (350°F). Gather your ingredients to streamline the cooking process.
  • In a large skillet, add your ground meat over medium heat. Cook for about 8-10 minutes until browned and fully cooked.
  • Once the meat is cooked, stir in the salt, pepper, nutmeg, and 300ml of tomato sauce. Simmer for about 10 minutes on low heat.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the meat mixture with 250g of ricotta cheese and half of the grated cheese. Stir until combined.
  • Stuff each cannelloni tube with the meat and cheese mixture using a spoon or piping bag.
  • Spread a layer of tomato sauce at the bottom of a baking dish (about 100ml) to prevent sticking.
  • Arrange the stuffed cannelloni in the dish and pour the remaining tomato sauce over the top.
  • Sprinkle the remaining grated cheese over the dish to create a crispy topping.
  • Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  • Let the baked cannelloni rest for about 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use quality meat and avoid overfilling the tubes. Let the dish rest before serving for easier slicing.
