Step-by-Step Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
Whisk together 2 ½ cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and ½ teaspoon of salt in a medium-sized bowl.
In a large mixing bowl, cream 1 cup of unsalted butter, 1 cup of brown sugar, and ½ cup of granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Incorporate 2 large eggs one at a time and stir in 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract until fully combined.
Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the butter mixture until just combined.
Fold in 2 cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
Press half of the batter into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
Drizzle 1 cup of caramel sauce over the first layer of dough and spread it gently.
Drop spoonfuls of the remaining dough over the caramel and spread it gently.
Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown; a toothpick should come out with a few moist crumbs.
Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before lifting out and cutting into squares.
Notes
Consider adding nuts or different chocolate types for a unique spin on your Better Than Anything Bars. Allow to cool completely before cutting for better structure.
