Instructions

Baking Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  • Press half of the dough into the bottom of the prepared baking dish, then drizzle caramel sauce over it.
  • Spread spoonfuls of the remaining dough over the caramel layer, covering it partially.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool in the pan.
  • Once slightly cooled, sprinkle with sea salt if desired, then cut into squares.

Notes
