Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ¾ cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Baking Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, beat brown sugar and eggs until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add espresso powder and vanilla extract, mixing well until fully incorporated.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  • Fold in chocolate chips and walnuts (if using).
  • Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheet, spacing about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are set and centers look slightly soft.
  • Let cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
