Instructions
Step-by-Step Instructions
Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C) and prepare a roasting pan with a roasting rack inside.
Score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern for the glaze to penetrate.
Place the ham on the roasting rack with the cut side facing down, lightly cover with foil.
In a saucepan, combine maple syrup, bourbon, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, cinnamon, cloves, black pepper, and salt. Simmer for 5-7 minutes until thickened.
After 1.5 hours of cooking, remove the foil and brush the glaze generously over the ham.
Continue roasting for an additional 30 minutes, basting every 10 minutes.
Consider studding the ham with whole cloves 15 minutes before the cooking ends.
Remove the ham from the oven and let it rest for at least 15 minutes before slicing.
Slice the ham and serve it warm, drizzled with any remaining glaze.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze for longer storage. Ideal for sandwiches or salads.
