Instructions
Step-by-Step Instructions
In a large skillet, over medium heat, add 1 pound of ground beef. Break it apart with a spatula and season with a packet of taco seasoning, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of pepper. Cook for about 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the beef is browned and cooked through. If necessary, drain the excess fat and remove the skillet from heat.
Before assembling your Cheesy Beef Nachos, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). While it heats up, grab a large baking sheet and arrange your tortilla chips in an even layer across the surface.
Once the oven is preheated, spoon the cooked ground beef evenly over the tortilla chips, and sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese and 1 cup of shredded Monterey Jack cheese generously over the beef.
Place the baking sheet into your preheated oven and bake for approximately 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and starting to turn just slightly golden.
Once you remove the nachos from the oven, top with 1 cup of diced tomatoes, ½ cup of black olives, and ½ cup of jalapeños if desired. Finish with a sprinkle of ¼ cup of fresh cilantro.
Drizzle the nachos with ½ cup of sour cream and sprinkle ¼ cup of chopped green onions on top and serve hot.
Notes
Use quality beef for best results. Customize with toppings of your choice but avoid overloading to prevent sogginess. Store leftovers appropriately.
