Instructions
Step-by-Step Instructions
Begin by cutting the tops off the 12 ripe strawberries so they stand upright with the pointed tip facing up.
Next, take 2 ounces of white fondant and add a drop or two of black food coloring gel. Knead until the color is evenly distributed.
Lightly dust your work surface with powdered icing sugar and roll out both the white and black fondant separately until they’re about ⅛ inch thick.
Using a small cookie cutter or a knife, cut out small ovals from the black fondant to mimic the mouth of a spooky monster.
Cut small triangle shapes from the white fondant to represent the teeth.
Use a little water on your finger and dab the bases of the white fondant teeth. Place them onto the black ovals and press gently to secure.
Apply a small dab of writing icing to the back of each candy eye and secure them on top of the black mouths.
Notes
Store assembled Strawberry Halloween Monsters in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. For longer storage, freeze the strawberries without decorations for up to 3 months.
