  • ¼ cup hot honey the star of the dish

For the Bowl

  • 2 cups cooked rice white or brown
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • 1 medium avocado sliced
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro chopped
  • 1 medium lime cut into wedges

Step-by-Step Instructions

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.
  • Increase heat to medium-high and add ground beef. Cook for 7-8 minutes until browned, breaking apart with a wooden spoon.
  • Stir in cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper into the browned beef. Mix thoroughly to coat the meat evenly.
  • Pour in soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce, stirring to combine. Cook for about 2 minutes to meld flavors.
  • Add hot honey to the skillet, mixing to combine all ingredients. Simmer for about 3 minutes.
  • Reduce heat to low and let the mixture simmer for another 5 minutes to deepen the flavors.
  • Prepare 2 cups of cooked rice as the base in each bowl.
  • Top the rice with the spicy beef mixture, followed by halved cherry tomatoes and sliced avocado.
  • Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with lime wedges on the side.

Notes

For a milder dish, reduce hot honey or mix in water. Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor.
