Instructions
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Gather your ingredients.
In a mixing bowl, combine cubed white bread and raisins. Toss gently.
In a saucepan, warm milk and butter over medium heat until butter melts.
Pour the warm milk mixture over bread. Let sit for 10 minutes.
Add sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and nutmeg to the soaked bread. Mix thoroughly.
Grease a casserole dish. Pour pudding mixture into the dish evenly.
Bake in the preheated oven for 40–50 minutes until center is firm.
For the sauce, combine butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a saucepan. Heat until thickened.
Stir in heavy whipping cream until velvety consistency is reached.
Remove sauce from heat, mix in vanilla extract, and drizzle over warm bread pudding.
