  • 4 cups cubed white bread 1-inch cubes

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Gather your ingredients.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine cubed white bread and raisins. Toss gently.
  • In a saucepan, warm milk and butter over medium heat until butter melts.
  • Pour the warm milk mixture over bread. Let sit for 10 minutes.
  • Add sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and nutmeg to the soaked bread. Mix thoroughly.
  • Grease a casserole dish. Pour pudding mixture into the dish evenly.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 40–50 minutes until center is firm.
  • For the sauce, combine butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a saucepan. Heat until thickened.
  • Stir in heavy whipping cream until velvety consistency is reached.
  • Remove sauce from heat, mix in vanilla extract, and drizzle over warm bread pudding.
